Wallpaper Wednesday – January 29th – Splish Splash

When a wave finally forms and breaks, water is shot up everywhere. Surface tension provides some resistance to the water molecules separating, so instead of millions of water droplets everywhere, we get goo-like patterns. There are still droplets that separate because of the force of the splash, but a lot of it sticks together. It took a while to get the shot I wanted for this one! Every wave has a different break pattern. I found a spot in the break where the light was coming through and snapped away; eventually I got this shot.
