The desert is an interesting place. Especially when you slowly make your way out of a gigantic city, like LA, and come into the desolateness little by little.

The further out, the more things disappear. One of those things in this case was shade!

If you follow our bi-weekly timelapses then you already know that we spent a day in Joshua tree national park. It was a great way to unwind from the hustle of the city, although this time around we weren’t doing too much hustle in LA.

When I think of it, it astounds me that Joshua Tree is just one national park amongst hundreds that are located in North America. I’ve only been to a few parks but each one I’ve gone to is completely different than the other.

This really gave me a sense of scale while traveling. The world is huge, that’s one thing that’s become clear to me, and at the end of the day, in relation to other things, the Earth is such a tiny place.
