In recent years, hammocks have been taking over. There are hammock tents, travel hammocks, lightweight, big, small, fancy, cheap and a study has even come out that sleeping in a hammock, the proper way, could be better for you than sleeping in a bed. One of the best hammocks that I’ve come across, though, is the ticket to the moon series.
This isn’t just any old hammock, it’s revolutionary, take over the world revolutionary… while you’re dreaming that is.
So what’s so special about this hammock? Well, for starters, it’s one of the most comfortable hammocks that I’ve laid in. Plus, it packs itself nicely into a very small pouch. It comes with easy tie ropes, has hooks on the ends of the hammock, and the pouch it folds into serves as a little baggie to hold your cell phone, note pad, small book, or keys while you sleep.
Fortunately I’ve made so much good use of my hammock over the past few years that I’ve unfortunately lost my little storage baggie. It does come sewed on but after all the use I put it through it was about time it fell. I’m sure it’s somewhere and I’ll find it one day, but for today, no pouch pictures =(.
Durability-wise, this hammock is spot on. I have the single version and have laid in it with Jade countless times. They’re made out of parachute material so they can hold quite a bit of weight. But can it hold two big adults? That I haven’t tested but I don’t doubt it (if you do happen to try do it SLOWLY and let me know how it goes).
If you get one I’d recommend getting the easy tie ropes to make your life a little easier. You can wrap these around most trees and other beams to give yourself a quick hammocking (just made that word up) spot.
Our overall Ticket to the Moon Hammock Review:
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Lightweight
- Made out of very strong fabric
- Has a dual purpose pouch
- Packs small
- Holds a lot of weight
- Many color options available
- Solid corporate responsibility
Cons:
- Material will easily rip if it comes in contact with something sharp
- In hotter climates it holds the heat
All in all:
This is a great travel hammock. It’s lightweight, folds really small due to the material it’s made out of, and is durable, as long as you don’t sit in it with your utility knife open =P.
We have the same Hammock our son Sebastien gave to us for our weeding aniversarie a King size one..we still have the pouch..agree 100% with Gabriel is a very nice very nice HAMMOCK!!!!!!
Yes it is an awesome hammock =D.
