Today, we’re trying something new. We know that there are countless smartphone users and that our wallpapers don’t fit the proportions. So, we’ve started a new sub series in the Wallpaper Wednesday series. It’s called diptych.
So what is this word you’ve probably never heard of? (I hadn’t either until Jade mentioned it) Well, it’s when you combine or create two images that go well together. This is perfect for smart phones because you can use two different pictures., one for the lock screen and one for the interface once the phone is un-locked.
The first picture was shot on a lazy Sunday evening in La Boca, Cabarete. This is a prime hangout spot where the river meets the ocean. Locals come here on Sunday afternoons to bathe, drink and eat their afternoon away. It’s not too far, but you do need to go through a good amount of road that’s pure, fluffy, sand so it doesn’t get too much traffic which equals untouched beaches.
The second picture was inspired by the Crashing Waves photo essay that I did a while ago. I just got a fixed 50mm 1.4 so I was curious to see how it would capture the waves in comparison to my other lenses. If you’ve been following our Wallpaper Wednesday series you may have already noticed that the wave part of this diptych is a recent wallpaper.
We’d love your feedback on this new sub series of our Wallpaper Wednesday so let us know in the comments =D. Also, here’s a preview of what it will look like on an iPhone.
