When you’ve been in the same place for such a long time you need to start getting creative with your environment. Trying new things, having new approaches and thinking outside of the box will go a long way.
When taking pictures, to get the right angle, you don’t always need to be looking through the view-finder or the screen. If you have an idea in mind and need to lift your arm as high as possible and calculate what will be in frame, do it. It’s probably an angle someone else has yet to cover and you’ll get some pretty interesting shots.
This week’s Wallpaper Wednesday was shot on the beach in Cabarete. I saw all of the cool patterns that the water was making when the waves broke and splashed up on the sand so I imagined a shot from up above. I’m not tall enough to be able to look through the view-finder or screen so I simply reached out my arm, aimed, and shot when I felt like I had something valuable in frame. These are two of the ones that I ended up with for this week’s diptych wallpaper.
