Rotation Point – Wallpaper Wednesday

Recently we’ve been getting more and more into taking pictures of the night sky. It’s one of my favorite niches in photography but I feel that it’s also the hardest and most time consuming.

For a photo like the one above it can take anywhere from thirty minutes to a few hours. Better hope that your battery doesn’t run out either or you’ll have lost everything!

This one was shot in Bahia De Los Angeles, a beautiful town in Baja California. We camped out in our Westy for almost a week, enjoying the wildlife and time away from civilization.

Have you ever tried any night photography?
How did it go?

We would love to hear from you! Have a specific color, theme, or style you would like to see for next week’s Wallpaper Wednesday? Let us know and we’ll head into our archives, or take a picture, just for you! Enjoy your free Rotation Point wallpaper and have a beautiful day.

  1. Wow – I’d love to take a picture like this.

Unfortunately, I only have my phone camera – and the pictures I have taken are just not clear enough. I think maybe I need some way of securing it, so I can point and click.

My laters pictures of Venus, the Moon and Mars just didn’t come out right. However I do plan on fixing it to my telescope lense somehow – and experimenting with that.

    All the best, Mark

    1. Hey Mark,

Thanks for stopping by! You can download long exposure apps for most smartphones that will help you get the trails, however, a phone’s resolution isn’t that of a DSLR, so your image quality might still not exceed your expectations. Keep experimenting and let us know how it goes!
