Tune In

Now that you have regained your faith in your mission to move in line with your heart’s true desires, it’s time to understand what that is. It’s time for some hardcore soul searching.

It might surprise some of us, while others might relate, but not all of us actually KNOW what it is that we want. We can feel it lurking somewhere in our unconscious but have never listened enough to have brought it to our consciousness, at least not in the form of a clear and understandable goal. Even those of us who think we don’t need to search for our soul should go through this stage, if only to reaffirm we’ve got things right.

This is the stage where we need to turn into ourselves, tune in, listen hard, and ask all the right questions.

Answers will come later, for now we need to start to get the unconscious pulp moving around. We’ve ignored our true feelings for so long they stopped believing they’d ever be heard and settled down to the depths of our consciousness. In this stage we want to shake things up and bring long ignored emotions to the surface.

This stage isn’t easy. At times it can seem useless, hopeless, or even counter-productive. It can bring about a lot of confusion, and old feelings we thought we had dealt with can rear their ugly heads again, but have faith in yourself and don’t give up.

The thing that most helped me start this stage was the book The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. This isn’t the kind of book you read cover-to-cover like the Alchemist, it’s a workbook originally intended to help artists out of their blocks, but it’s a great workbook for ANYONE wishing to uncover their true intentions. In fact, it will help with the next stage as well.

    1. Corinne, I feel like this is when you read our blogs!! Hahaha. You are NOT a rat, that’s just not possible. However, it’s also totally OK to be happy in your routine. Some people absolutely love the 9-5 life and I’m by no means trying to shame or change them (I’m actually kind of jealous) This post is not for those people. They should go about their lives as they already do and keep loving it!!!

This is for those people who are not satisfied.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, as usual.

  1. Jade, I remember when you read The Artist Way and I remember witnessing the impact it had on you. You’ve traveled a long way since. Keep embracing life, lady :)

    1. Gen, you were there for some of my worst times… that is for sure! I wouldn’t talk about it if I didn’t believe it. It was recommended to me by a friend and it took years for me to warm up to the idea, I’ve never even finished it, but it did have a tremendous impact on my life.

      Thanks for reading, as usual!
