Planning a Road Trip in the US, your ULTIMATE resource guide

Where to Eat

For the love of GOD! You will be tempted to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible and stop in a rest area for a quick McDonalds and get back on the road ASAP.

DO NOT DO THIS.

If you learn one thing from this whole post, it’s that no matter how much the world makes fun of the US for its lack of culinary know-how, it’s only half true.

Every time you want to eat, pull into a town, not a rest stop, and ask someone, anyone, where there’s a good place to eat.

Sure, sometimes you’ll get a crap response, but sometimes you’ll find real gems.

Roadtrippers will help you with this.

Use McDonald’s for what it’s really useful for: Giving you free wifi nationwide, and open up your roadtripper’s app to find the nearest delicious hot-spot. The Food TV show planner will also help you find little gems.

Support local businesses, and your arteries, and say no to fast food. You’d be missing out on one of the greatest parts of the states if you didn’t.

  1. Great idea! I think there’s nothing better than a cross-country road trip through the U.S.A. I’ve also done it dozens of times, and each time there is something new to see and do. And great websites to get the ball rolling.

    1. Ah, a fellow long-haul road-tripper :)

Glad you approve of the sites, feel free to add a few if you know of good ones! Or add to your favorite special locations, I know my list is far from complete!

      Thanks Corinne!
